About Us
R.T.S Racing Products began in the mid-seventies when I first rode a 500cc Goldie around the garden at home before progressing to scramble racing on a 440cc Victor. During this time, I was regularly visiting a local motorcycle shop in Newent, run by Selwyn Perry, to buy parts and equipment. After leaving school, I went to work for Selwyn building Ansell frames for Grasstrack racing. Riders such as Julian Wigg, Rod Lidgate, Robin Davies and Barry Meaks all achieved great success using our Ansell products, and it was during this period that I moved from scrambling to grasstrack racing myself.
While riding an Ansell 250cc and a BSA 350cc as a beginner, I won my first final at Leamington Spa. From that moment on, I was completely hooked.
As the business progressed, I designed and manufactured the first R.T.S frame in 1979 for my eldest son Mark, who had begun racing in the youth category. My youngest son, Neil, soon followed the family Grasstrack tradition and both boys have enjoyed many years of success since. During the late seventies I also began rebuilding engines, including building one for Clayton Williams, who went on to become British Youth Champion. We sponsored Clayton throughout his career and he later achieved further success by becoming the British 350cc Champion among many other major achievements.
I also recall meeting Trevor Banks at a schoolboy practice meeting many years ago. He was keen to try one of the boys’ bikes and after being impressed with its performance, we agreed a sponsorship arrangement that lasted for more than 20 years. During that time he went on to win Grasstrack and Long Track events around the world.
Over the years, both Mark and Neil have taken active roles within the business and we have supported many riders including Andy Riley, Chris “Bomber” Harris, Tim Nobes, Joe Screen, Glyn Stanton, Wayne Broadhurst and the fantastic late Paul Fry.
Today we continue to support riders across both youth and adult classes, including James Shanes, who has won multiple British and European titles. Mark’s son Cameron also continued the family tradition by winning the 2018 British Youth Junior Title.
Today Mark and I continue to develop the business alongside our team, with an increasing number of R.T.S frames and engines competing on tracks across the sport.

Supporting the Future of Motorsport
At RTS Racing, our passion for motorsport is driven by an equally strong love for engineering. From the earliest days of the team, we have believed that racing is as much about innovation in the workshop as it is about performance on the track. Every component, adjustment, and design decision reflects our commitment to refining our machines and continually pushing engineering forward.
Whether developing new components, improving reliability, or refining performance, we approach every project with precision and attention to detail. The workshop is where ideas become reality and where engineering plays a crucial role in achieving results on track. We see racing as a continuous process of learning and development, with each season offering new opportunities to build on experience and further improve our approach.
Beyond competition, RTS Racing is committed to supporting the continued growth of motorsport. Through our dedication to engineering, development, and collaboration, we aim to contribute to the future of the sport we are so passionate about.
